Melt My Heart, Why Don't Cha??

I don't have to say much about the following photo, other than AWWWW...*melt.....AWWWWW...*melt, melt, melt!

My lovey-dovey little furball: Dolce
Let me tell ya', this little girl rules the roost around here...she is definitely the Queen Bee. This would be her taking one of her many catnaps...in human-position, her favorite position. It's crazy how much I really do love this kitty :-)

Other than rambling on and on over my girl, I don't have much other to say or write about...other than tomorrow is Friday and that excites me...very very very much.

The office will be very empty due to people who are normally off on Fridays or either on vacation...which suits me just fine. A nice, quiet, relaxing workday is SO needed after this week...I'm definitely looking forward to it. Perhaps me and the couple of other people who will actually be there will go have a fabulous lunch, and a cocktail or two. I kid, I kid!...maybe. ;-)

Here's to a great Friday!

I did it! I finally did it!

I made the biggest investment of my life so far on Wednesday -- I bought a new car!!!!!

(everyone scream it with me: YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!)

Let's all celebrate with a big toast, shall we?

So I know you're biting your nails to know what I bought huh?...
a 2001 Chrysler Sebring Convertible with ONLY 34K miles! Can you believe that!?!?

Here's some pictures of the white beauty that I now proudly own:

I think I might be in love...

Here today, car tomorrow ???

Keep your fingers crossed... I'm hoping to make "the" purchase tomorrow -- hopefully the numbers will go my way and lean a little leniency. :-)

And as much as I wish it were this car:

It's not...

But it is nice, and pretty, and clean, and nice, and fully loaded, and nice...oh, and a convertible. :-)

Only time will tell....we'll see come tomorrow afternoon!

(I'm crossing my fingers, toes, tongue, and eyes...I NEED A NEW CAR!!!

Woeful Wednesday

HUMP DAY! yay! :-)

So first and foremost, a quick shout-out to my momma! You know I love you...oh so much...and miss you just as much. Wish I was going with you to Florida -- Lord knows I need and want a vacation! [you must: get a good tan for me while you're there!]

As I promised yesterday, here are some of my favorite pictures from 4th of July at the Downtown Decatur fireworks show:

While I don't have the best camera to capture such a beautiful image, I make due with what I've got...and decided to spice it up a bit by playing around with some of them. Isn't it cool what a little shaking of the camera during the flash will produce? I love 'em!
That's all for now...enjoy :-)

Can't wait till Friday,
Courtney

Frustration...

Guess what?

Still no car. And as the title blatantly states, I'm going through some serious "frustration." Actually got to go look at one that I could afford today (AND liked!), I get it all checked out from head to toe to oil pan, and get ready to take it for a test drive. Then wouldn't you know it, the sky breaks...hard. So hard that I can barely see 15ft in front of the car -- this isn't good, "I don't even own
this car yet! I gotttttta get out of this weather!" EEEEEK! (Keep in mind, I'm scared shitless to drive in rain in my car, muchless one that I don't own...seriously, poopless!)

So while there are things that need to be fixed on the car before I'll buy it, and while I wait to get its Carfax report faxed to me...I have yet to even get a good test drive to even see if the car can take me home to Arkansas or not (which at this point is all I care about considering my current car won't hardly take me 10 miles to work). GRR.

I think what really gets at me is the fact that it
takes about $20 just to get to the dealership and back home once its all said and done due to freakin' gas prices. Unfortunately, the dealership isn't close to where I work, or live...or ever care to venture to.

But on a brighter, more lovely note: here are some pictures of the rainbows I mentioned in my post last week...(sorry ONCE again that it's been a week since my last post, whoops).

Aren't they beautiful!?! I was just taken back by them, always have been...

Alright, I'm whooped and crazing my comfy bed right about now. I'll post 4th of July pictures tomorrow...hopefully. :)

Much Ado About Nothing...

Happy July!!

It's July?? Wow.

So since it's been yet another week since I last posted (I'm not as good at keeping this thing updated as I planned on being), and since I am sitting at work during my lunch break with nothing to do...here I am -- ta~da!!

Not much has changed since last week:

-STILL car shopping...unfortunately. And it's really driving me crazy and wearing my patience thin. I just want a car...simple enough, right? Think again...
-taking over the co-worker's job again as she drinks Pina Colada's on the beach in Mexico...I'm not bitter, I swear!
-I am officially done with school though...HOO-FREAKIN'-RAY!

Last nite was SO nice...I got off work and met up with Ryan for dinner at TAP then had a nitecap at La Tavola with Alli behind the bar. I love that girl...I miss my LT family so much :-( It's always good to just pop in and say hi once in a while even if I don't stay for dinner. But for the first time in the last 6 weeks I was able to do whatever I wanted after getting off of work...no school-stuff to take care of. Again, SO nice.

The weekend was okay, but could have definitely been better. Ryan and I met up with his roommate and his girlfriend for dinner on Sunday and saw a beautiful rainbow -- fully extended from one side to another, vibrant co
lors, and just'a glowing. Another appeared soon therafter right beside it, but was faint in color compared to the first one. They were gorgeous! I have always had a thing for rainbows...ever since I was a little girl. They're just majestic in a way -- breathtaking to say the least. We got out in the parking lot and took several pictures (along with lots of other people in awe). I'll try to get those pictures posted soon for you to enjoy as well. :-)

.....Alright- back to work. More later.

Oh! Almost forgot- my sis sent me some new pictures of her family (which I can't get enough of).

Here's one of my favorites:

My nephew, Jameson and my niece, Hannah.
Beautiful kids, huh?
They are certainly a couple of my all-time, greatest joys.

Only...a...few...more...days!!!

You can tell a girl is busy when she doesn't even have the time to simply drop in and say hello on her blog...much less compose an entire entry. Lawdie mercy...my life is so freakin' hectic right now, I will be so happy once Thursday is done and past...soooo happy.

Between working late and picking up the responsibilities of a coworker who's been on vacation (which is a job I had no clue how to do, and literally got thrown into!)...I have been stressed out to the max. But, fortunately, the extra responsibilities at work haven't been too hellacious...thank goodness.

Other than that, I'm currently wrapping up my last class at Emory and have one more paper to crank out. I do have to say, though, that I am thrilled I won't have to make the commute to class 3 times a week and just up-and-leave work to go sit for an hour in classroom twiddling my thumbs. The time away from work proves to be non-profitable, so to speak, and it leaves me with huge to-do list of things to get done either by 6pm, or over nite while I'm at home where I should be enjoying a little leisure/sitting around/vegging out. And if it's not work-work that I still have hanging over my head, it's a paper/response/bibliography/reading/etc for school to get done before the next morning.

Again, can I just elaborate on how estactic I am to be done with class as of Thursday? WOOO HOOO!!

Alright, nice little "break" while I ate my grilled ham-n-cheese for lunch...but for now I gotta get back to a heaping pile of slavework sitting on my desk or laying in my inbox :)

More later...
xo

Work, play, & work a whole lot more...

I tell ya' what...I am whooped! My goodness, I look back at the lifestyle I used to live, which was pure leisure and ran on my own time and dime. Now, I am a slave to needy clients and finishing up one class so I can finally get a piece of paper worth over $200,000. I am exhausted!...and miss my social life dearly. I guess that's what being a grown-up is all about though, huh? I hope so, because if not, then I am in the wrong situation!!! ;-)

3 more days of class...thank God. Summer school is so fast-paced and tedious...and fast-paced, and more tedious. It's never ending...for 6 weeks at least.

Ok, enough griping and bitching for one day.

Picked up another client today at work where I will act as the leading account coordinator. Am I intimidated? Of course. Do I have a single freakin' clue what I'm doing or how to do it? Of course not. I'm up for the challenge though...bring it. Bring a bigger salary with you while you're at it...that'd be pretty sweet.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. Obvious reason: it's the weekend! Second reason: the Braves are back in town on Friday after being on the road for FOREVER. YAY! I love the Braves dearly and am a huge fan...but I really just love the experience of going to a game at Turner Field. Tailgating, good tunes crankin', and boys in baseball pants...it doesn't get much better than that! (Ryan, if you read this -- you look much better than any of those guys, even in my sweatpants which couldn't even compliment someone as gorgeous as Heidi Klum, but you baby...you make them work!)

Alright, enough procrastination for now...time to get back to work (the story of my life).

XO.

'M' stands for Mudbugs.

Wrap-up of my weekend....which may I say, was so "fabulously" relaxing :-)

Saturday: worst daily diet of my life, but it was all SO delicious.
Breakfast - milk and chocolate chip cookies
Lunch - 1.5 pounds of crawfish <---- this was the highlight of my weekend!
Dinner - bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate syrup

Needless to say, I was starving on Sunday! However, my Saturday was so relaxing and uneventful. I spent the entire day being a couch potato. Watched a movie for a film review for the class I'm taking right now...then vegged out on the mudbugs and a cold beer. While I enjoyed my time off from everything...I was truly sad that I was missing out on the annual festival back home in Arkansas - the Pink Tomato Festival. I try to make it home twice a year, for that and Christmas. With the new job though, I didn't want to request time off so early so I had to sacrifice not being a country bumpkin' for the time being, and hopefully I can make a trip home in a month or so. I miss my family terribly, but I'm fortunate that they were able to come to Atlanta back in May for my graduation...at least I haven't seen them since Christmas like every other year at this time. So, it goes without saying, I got some crawfish in honor of the festival...and man, they were SO good! Made me cry...those babies were hot and spicy. Just the way I like 'em...

Sunday, Father's Day, was also a bit sad for me...I wish more than anything I could have been home with my papa bear. Same as above -- I wasn't. Instead, I went out to Ryan's parents house and hung out with his family for a while. It's not the same, but it is nice to have a family away from home, and his family really is amazing...they treat me so well and take care of me as if I were one of their own. :-)

Dinner later that evening was ridiculous. I have coupons for several restaurants around Atlanta for $25 off, and Ryan and I had intended on going to one restaurant in particular whose kitchen was open later (as it was 9:45 by the time we got out of the door). So, we headed over to STATS in downtown Atlanta (which, is NOT a nearby restaurant), and there is a line the length of the Mississippi trailing out the door...this can't be good. And as if that isn't a bad enough sign, one would think that it was the grand opening of Puff Daddy's newest club. Needless to say, me and Ryan turned right around after waiting 20 minutes in that line while trying to figure out what we should do...and decided to head back to Decatur for some good ole' Taco Mac. What a bust (and waste of gas).

At least my salad was pretty good....?

Anywho, back to reality and getting over the fact that it's Monday.
sigh....

Is it 5pm yet!?!

Friday never felt so good...

Hellooooo, weekend!

Finally, I thought you'd never come. How sweet of you to visit! :-)

R&R is in order, as well as a little car shopping tomorrow. I have GOT to get rid of my SUV, poor thing is about to fall apart right under me. Gas is another thing...I can't afford it! Wish me luck, I've found the car of my dreams (or at least the car I've wanted since highschool)...now I just have to see if I can afford it!

Anywho- I come home today, check the mail, and it's going to be a great Friday nite:
*income tax return check -- YAY!
*3 magazines (Good Housekeeping, Elle Decor, and Harper's Bazaar)
*a sweet "Congrats on the new job" card from momma
Lest we not forget the 6-pack of my favorite beer chilling in the fridge as we speak...yummm.

I must admit, I do love my weekends...even if I don't go out and paint the town red. My home does me just fine :-)
